"As far as rust goes, I have never seen a forged (golf) club, with a little wear, that won't rust if you get it wet and don't take care of it."

As long as golf irons are made from metal and there is water and/or fertilizer involved, there is the potential for rusting. A little extra care is all it takes.
Tuf-Cloth and Tuf-Glide are perfect to protect your golf clubs and equipment from the harmful moisture that breeds rust.
As explained by another golf enthusiast: "We've seen a couple of cases where golf clubs have rusted due to either sea spray or fertilizer, so some care should be taken." Our
Marine Tuf-Cloth is made especially for saltwater protection, so if you play anywhere near the ocean this is the protection of choice.
Yet another customer has explained that "I have used the Sentry Solutions
Marine Tuf Cloth on all of my golf clubs. The product works extremely well as a corrosion inhibitor. The
Marine Tuf-Cloth is handy to use. It comes in a zip lock type pouch that you can keep in your golf bag etc... My father uses it on his high dollar salt water fishing reels and it keeps them corrosion free. If it can do that, it obviously can take care of a golf club.
No matter how hard you try, rust can happen. Forged golf heads are made of mild carbon steel that is chrome plated. Once you start hitting balls you scratch the surface of the chrome, which can eventually expose the raw steel to moisture and chemicals that can cause rust to form. The best way to minimize rust on your clubs is to keep the irons dry at all times, wipe them after every shot and at the end of the round with a dry cloth. And for the best protection, wipe the head and shaft with your
Tuf-Cloth to keep the waterproof barrier fully functioning.
And always keep in mind that some high nitrogen fertilizers, sandy soil conditions and water with high iron content can accelerate the production of rust. The use of iron head covers is not recommended as they trap moisture and accelerate the production of rust.
Tuf-Glide is used by the makers of major golf clubs. If it's
their solution for rust, shouldn't it be yours?
